‘A wounded landscape - bearing witness to the Holocaust’
In March this year, my 6 year work ‘A wounded landscape - bearing witness to the Holocaust’, will be complete and production of the book will begin.
22 stories.
375 photographs.
750 pages.
I will bring you more in depth news about this work next month including details and links to the Kickstarter that will be launched to fund the book production costs. The book is mid design and it has become a wonderful collaboration with the people whom are helping me make it, including the design, text editing and map making and all those who have and continue to support me during the last 6 years through the more than 50 trips to over 120 locations in 20 different countries. I really hope you are looking forwards to the book as much as I am.
The people I have met along the way have left such deep impressions on me. I have made and sadly lost new friends and listened to stories that to most of us, whilst we might have heard about them, are still almost impossible to imagine.

But they happened. And it is our job to keep sharing these stories and histories.

You may have spotted a few new images on my Instagram and Twitter feeds recently. It has taken me up until now to work out how to make images here in the UK during the pandemic (bit slow I know) but it’s a start. Where it will end up to be honest I really do not know and it might be just where they are, but I’ve written a fair bit of text over this year, some of which you can read in my earlier post ‘The impossible unembrace’ so maybe it will all come together at some point.
Next next new photobook
I have also started work on my next project that is a collaboration with my wife. Set in Ukraine and based around a number of short stories it is being made over a 12 month period and I hope to have it complete by the end of this year. We have the name of the work but I’l keep that under wraps for now.
Production is dependant on any future travel restrictions of course but I’m positive and really excited this new work and the direction it is taking me.
Again the intention is to make a photobook of it which I will self publish having had such a positive experience of that making the new edition of The Last Stand and Travelogue 1. In fact we’ve already chosen the colour for the cover!
That’s all for now
But I think for now I’m busy enough with my new books which I have been taking stock of in my little flat and wrapping up to ship to buyers. I’m learning to slow down and ‘enjoy’ the fullfilment process and as some of you might have received in the post recently, I’m working hard on my wrapping skills.
