Exhibtions in Brussels, Book Fairs in London and at last...the new book.

This Sunday I will be in London at Photofusion in Brixton, showing and selling my books as part of the Photofusion Book Fair 2025, open from 1-5pm.

About 30 photographers will be on tables with a multitude of photobooks, zines and prints and I will have something very new on my table (more about that below). So if you are in the area please do come down for a chat about all things photography and my books old and new.

Next week I travel to Brussels with my family for opening of the 9 month long exhibition Presence of the Past at The House of European History. This exhibition shows the work of 27 photographers and I will be showing a selection of images from ‘The Last Stand’ there. I will be at the VIP opening on the Thursday evening and the public opening on the Friday, talking about my work.

Other photographers in the show include Anastasia Taylor-Lind, Niels Ackermann and Jan Kempenaers.

‘The exhibition reveals how Europeans engage with the past in their everyday lives’ and you can read much more about it on the Museums website.

I am also very happy to be able to finally say that my new book Travelogue 2 - A thousand days of longing is now back from the printers and in its final stage of production. Some advanced copies arrived with me here this morning and I am, at last, so happy with how it is, giving the subject matter what it deserves. Whilst reprinting and binding, the book now has a new cover design and colour with a beautiful embossed paper from GF Smith and also a handmade element with 2 images that are ‘tipped-in’.

So once the 500 copies arrive with me I will start the process of not only signing the 200 pre-orders and postcards to go with and preparing prints, labels and packaging, but first, hand tipping-in 2 images into each book…so 1000 in total.

So if you have preordered a copy, please do bear with me as it will take a few weeks for me to carefully finish the books off by hand and get them packed up and in the post. If you wish to order a copy now you can do so directly from my website.

In the meantime I hope to have a few completed advanced copies with me on Sunday at the Book Fair.

And finally, if you would like to read a bit about my process I was recently interviewed by Marcel Borgstijn for ‘The Darkroom of…’ and you can read that here.

Thank you for taking your time in reading this today and over the next few months I really look forward to talking with some of you in person, whether in London, Leeds or Brussels.

My best wishes,

Marc
