I spent 5 days last week on press at Taylor Brothers in Bristol printing the 1500 copies of my new book ‘A Wounded Landscape - bearing witness to the Holocaust’.
With the help of designer Wayne Ford and copy editor Eleanor O’Kane we spent 60 hours passing the 92 sheets for the book (each sheet having 8 pages on it). Over the next two weeks the printed sheets are now being folded into sections and then cut and sewn. These 46 sections are then bound into the hard cover to create the book, made up of 736 pages containing 360 photographs, 22 story texts and maps, captions and a foreword by James Bulgin, content leader of the Holocaust galleries at The Imperial war Museum.
It was an amazing experience, seeing the text and images coming to life together on the printed page.
I am due to receive the 1500 books from the printer in the second week of October. I then have over 600 books to package up and ship (which I do myself) so please do bear with me as this process will take a number of days.
Book launch
I have news of the first book launch also. This will be the London based event and I am currently working on a second launch based in the North of England also.
The London launch will be on the evening of Thursday October 14th, at The Photobook Cafe in Shoreditch from 6-9pm. The event is free of course but if you are able and wish to come please do register by clicking this link or the image below.
I will also be showing my books at Photobook Bristol in late October (24th to 26th) along with The Photobook Club collective so might hopefully see some of you there also.

There will be press upcoming about this new work in National Geographic, BBC Online, The Royal Photographic Society and The Times of Israel, amongst others so please do keep a look out for it.
